Evaluation of r magazines

Have many puns about American football due to what they would have been wearing and saying that they would have touched down in the UK.

Use of many ‘!’ as they would use this to make it clear what they would have made you focus on and this is why they would have it, however they do it on many of the things so this may mean it would have been trashy as it does not have one thing they would want you to focus on but they would have too many things on so they would not know what to do.

Alliteration ‘let loose in London’ as it would have grabbed the attention of those who would have been reading it and therefore causing them to be drawn to this.

Using short snapping sentences so it would have been easier to read.

When looking at what they would have been wearing it would link to what they would have said about the issue, being with them as they are American and it would be a quote because of them being fans of American football they would be wearing this and it benefits the pun.

It also says about it becoming brutal and that is why they would have their face painted as it would have looked like they would have been ready for battle which they would say the tour would be brutal

They are looking at the camera and this is because they would have wanted you to look back at them as again it would be something they would have used to draw the attention of those other people involved in. it would also be something which would have been used to grab the attention of the other people which is good.

With the target audience this would have been aimed for teenagers who would have been interested in this genre, it would have been aimed for these and everything in the main cover would have been aimed at this area, they would have been able to do this by look of the magazine, you would see that it would be aimed at these because of the way everything would have been wrote. The photo would be used as they would have been a band which would have been hot in the punk music and this would mean that people who would have liked that band would have brought the magazine.

The genre of the music would have been pop punk and they would have been smart the way that they would have shown this, they would have used the photo mainly to show this, this was done by looking at the photo because you would have seen a band and been able to tell it would be part of a music genre, so you would be able to see this and when you would have seen this, many of the people who would have got this magazine you would have known what sort of music it would have been because it had been around for so long, you would have been able to see this.

With the photo they would have been using it would have shown this, it is good that they would have used the band they would have used and this is because with using this they would be able to tell what the main article would be about and you would use this as a way of seeing what it would have been about.

Branding – this would have done by the colors which would be used because of the type of music, it would be made to make it stand out and they would use these colors as it would have been stereotypical. They would have also branded it because of what they would have done in this magazine would be the same as all of the other magazines and they would have used this as a way of branding so they would have known so if anyone would have looked at the magazine they would have been able to tell what it would be aimed at

The person who would have created this would be a man called Alan Lewis and it would have been many years ago but they would have only got this magazine, he would have made enough money off this magazine so he knew he did not need anymore and what he had done was enough hence why it has been around for a long time, they would have always been the same magazine and they would have used this as a way of being able to gain the fans. They have many of the other things which would have got them fans and this could be something such as the music channel, website, and tours. They have tailored all of the things that the target audience would have enjoyed

Appeal – they cover would have worked well, this is because with this they would have known what the target audience would be looking for, they would have known this and that is why they would have used the band that they did, all time low would have been used because they are known to be attractive so the people who would look at this it would have an element of ‘sex appeal’ so they would know this. 

Lily Allen magazine - It is structured so that the image is on the right hand side with not much of the writing over her as they want to make sure that they are able to see her, the image is important as they would recognize the artist and want to see what she has said in the interview and it would be the first thing that would have been seen when looking at the articles, they are also looking straight at the camera which is used to entice the reader as they believe it is aimed at you.

 The writing is on the other side with a large quote about something she has said which would want them to draw closer attention too and is the most interesting part, also would normally be the part of it which they would think you would gain the most attention from, also as it would be questioning what some people think they may want to read this and see why people think she is an attention seeker.

Below that you would have the actual interview which would not be in as big font and would just have a plain background for this; this would be because they would want to make sure they would find it easy to read as the colors are easy to read from each other.

The quotes are included when they would mostly throughout the interview when it would be linked in with what they are speaking about so they can tell what they are speaking about without using a typical answer and question format. They use this so people could imagine it and it isn't as boring as just reading the questions which have been asked, they would link it with what they are speaking about.

Font choices which are used for the quotes to grab the reader would have been bold and the reasons why they would have been is that they would stand out more because they are bold, and that they have the white on black, again is something which they would use to draw the attention to the quote at the beginning of the interview to make them want to read it.

The wording that they have is professional; they use this in the way that they would explain the interview and the questions asked, they would know this that they would want to have the questions which they have asked to go with the style of the magazine as it would gain more customers if they are keeping to the guidelines which have been set out.

There is one recognized masthead which is located on the top left hand side of the magazine

It has one central image which does not have a background and this is so they would be able to have text there which would have stood out and then it would have also just had everything you would be looking the photo and not would be behind them

It has five plugs, these are used to see what you would have in that issue and it would be something that people would look at when looking for a magazine to see if they would have liked this magazine so it would be a good selling point

The main cover line is saying that it would have an issue with Lily Allen about her taking over the world and this would probably be about a tour and then you would know from that they would be going on tour so would be good if you wanted to see her.

And it has a direct mode of address, this is something which would have been used to see what else would be issued in the magazine and this would be at the bottom of the magazine, this would be most of the other issues here.

Most of the main things which would be included in the magazine such as the main article would have been situated on the left side, this is because when they would have been set up traditionally the left side would be the only thing you would be able to see, so when you would be looking they would have the things which would grab most of the attention which would be the magazine masthead main article, and most the photo and maybe something else.

Lily’s head would not be covered as when they would look at where things are they would make sure that they have everything around this as people would like to see that person as would probably be the main reason why you would buy the magazine.

Also because it would have lots of things over the cover it would suggest there would be a lot of things there and this would make people think it would be value for money, this is because everything on the cover would be included.

When looking at the colors you would have only chosen four main once, the main are red, yellow, white and black they would have only used a few colors because when you would be looking at a magazine with more colors it would make it look tacky, they know this so that is why the colors would be similar to what you would have been used in the photo, this is so it would all go well together and complement each other.

The main photo would relate to the main issue which would be about her and the new tour she is going on and in that photo she is acting like she always is and this is looking like she is a bit out of it and does not care about anything, and when it says she is going to take on the world it looks like she is not fazed by thus.

The use of capitals was good, this was because they would be able to show the emphasis on the tour, the use of language is good as they would use it very snappy and short which would grab the attention of the reader

They also use quotes from what she said in the interview so most of the readers who would have liked this artist would be a major selling point and they would want to know what she was speaking about when she said it so they would use this as a way of dragging the reader in

Target audience – this magazine would be aimed at music fans, for the more alternative taste in music. It would have been aimed at males and females but the age would have been late teens, they would have tailored it for this by the language they would have used and the snappy sentences.

Genre – the genre of this magazine would be rock/alternative and this would be put forward because of the picture that they would have used, all of the advertisements.

The costumes that they would have been wearing would be suits, they are all dressed up smart, and four of them would have been wearing suits with a dark color and would have been dressed up smartly. However one of them would not have been in a jacket and the tie would not have been done as well as the others, this could be to show sometimes they would have been dressed up well and could be posh, however that would not be how they always are and this would be something which would subtly put across.

The facial expressions they would have used would be ones to show that they would have been serious about this and that they would be looking straight at you which would have grabbed the attention of the person who would have been involved. Again however the one who is situated on the right side of the magazine would not be looking that serious compared to the others and that would have shown that again they are not as serious all of the time and it is not all how they would have portrayed them.

The pose is something that you would not see much of because you can only see the top half of them all you can see is the hand. The front man (Oliver Sykes) would have his hands on show and he would be holding onto his cuff, this is something which would have shown that they are ready for business.

The photo type would be a medium shot as all you would have been able to see what they are wearing and what it is that they look like, they wanted to do this because the costumes that they are wearing goes with the magazine and the type of music. They use this as a way of selling the music. 

evaluation of Kerrang magazine - This contents page is a bit more jumbled than the other two but this would have linked in with the genre of music as it would have been rock so you would have imagined that everything would have been a bit out of control and not as professional as some of the other ones.

It has some screen shots of what would have been on the other magazines or inside of this one so you would be able to see the layout of the magazine on the contents page as it would be a way of showing if you would have wanted to see it quickly.

You would have been able to tell this would have been Kerrang, the reasons why you would have been able to tell that this would have been them is because of the bands they would be using and also the colours that they would use as they are well known for using those colours.

The choice for the image would have been the person who would have been on the front cover as they would be the main person that they would have been focusing on and that is because they would want most of the attention on that one person and the reason why they would have done this is because they would have seen that with this person he would have been a major selling point which is something that you would have wanted to read up on as they are a very big band and they would have known this so they would have actually.

The language they would have used would be things which more of an aggressive tone to it and that is because of the type of music that they would be selling which they would like to portray through the music and the language, the use of capitals and ‘!’ as it is in excess would show that they would want to have some more emphasis on these parts than any of the others.

Evaluation of Q - This again is one which would not have that much on it, it does however how more information than the previous one and this is because it would have more detail inside of it and it would not just have one major focus like the one above. It would spread it out but as it does have a main photo which would say that they are something which would be mainly focused on when looking at the magazine.

As it is from ‘Q’ it has the colors red, white and black which they have always used and this is good because again like the one above it does not look over crowded which you would have wanted and this is a very professional magazine.

It has a\ lot of information as it shows it would have been a large magazine showing most of the articles so you would be able to find what you are looking for easy and not have to look through loads of the pages to find it which many people don’t like it when they would have had to look through everything to find the one thing that they would have wanted to look at. 

The language which was used in this magazine would have been more in depth as there is a lot but would just be normal and informal language; this is because of the audience that would have used this magazine would want it to be wrote well and they would have known this and that is why they would have done it.

  Evaluation of Vibe - With this contents page you have the writing which would have been situated around her body, this is a method used to show off her body which is good.

It isn’t over crowded as most of the emphasis would be on her and focus on her hence why she’s the main thing involved on the contents page.

It does have what would have been involved on there but they would only say what it is there on the more interesting pages ones which they think they would have sold the magazine on as they would want most of the attention on them.

The way contents is wrote is something which would be used again to draw some attention to it as it is not the normal way something would have been written and this is a good way for someone to remember this magazine because it is not a normal way of doing something so again is used to remember them.

The colors used are basic so everything else which would have been used would have been more likely to stand out because of having it being bland and making it look very professional as it is not something which looks stupid with all of the colors involved.

The language they would have used would have been pretty basic and left to a minimum that they would have been able to do and get away with this. The language they would have used would have been basic as they know who this magazine would have been aimed at.
